UI Player Feedback and Direction

This week I conducted some playtest with some people around my university, some knew straight away what needed to be done from prior game experience, but many were confused. After putting myself in their shoes I had noticed that there is no call to action or any instruction what so ever on how to get started. I quickly took to HUD hints and elements to briefly explain to the player some features. This process inn itself was fun since I wanted to animate all this elements to make them as interesting as possible.
